When it comes to buying a pair of running trainers it feels like a mine field! There are so many brands, shapes, sizes, colours, but more importantly level of cushioning, support and something called a heel drop?!
So how do I know which is the right one to buy?
I know it sounds vein but sometimes I feel you need to start with something you like the look of. Because everytime you go for a run and you look at your shoes you dont want to have a negative mindset even by looking at your shoes.
Once you know you like the look of a shoe, then have a look at the level of support and cushioning. If you are a seasoned runner and have been running a long time then you should know what feels comfortable to you when you run.
However, as a beginner you would probably want to start with a little more cushioning and support to BEGIN with. I say this because once you have built on your strength and flexibility, and even your running technique then the type of shoe you will need will more than likely change.
